Permanent Make-Up

Let's face it, there are two main questions you have in your mind right now. Does it hurt? and How much does it cost? Let's answer those first.

Q -  Is the procedure painful?
A -  In most cases pain is minimal. Procedures are performed with the most effective topical anesthetics providing near total numbing of the area to minimize any pain you may feel.

Q -  What are your prices?
A -  Price varies dependant on free client consultation. Bella Vidas aspires to make your Beautiful Life services fit into your budget affordably.

Q -  What is Permanent Make-Up?
A -  Permanent Make-Up is a non-surgical micro-procedure known as Micropigmentation. Tiny droplets of custom blended colors are skillfully deposited into the dermal layer of the skin to simulate natural looking or well-defined Make-Up. This process is a selective art form where the natural features of the face are enhanced and defined in the form of permanent eyebrows, eyeliner and/or lip liner and color. The results are beautiful, immediate and permanent! A refreshingly, radiant yet natural look is achieved that cannot be duplicated by traditional cosmetics. Each treatment is as unique as the individual receiving it.

Q -  Is Micropigmentation for you? Who benefits from Permanent Make-Up?
A -
Women with active lifestyles wanting the timesaving convenience from the daily routine of applying make-up
Anyone wanting to save money from cosmetic purchases
Women who have difficulty applying make-up because of poor vision or physical limitations
Athletic women who want a radiant, carefree look while exercising
Eliminates smearing and smudging of make-up on hot days
Women wishing to change the shape and shade of their lips or the shape of their eyebrows
Men and women who suffer from brow or hair loss or who have sparse or fair eyebrows and eyelashes
Men desiring the look of irresistible eyes
Women allergic to cosmetics, who have watery eyes, hay fever or whose skin tends to absorb or change the quality and color of their make-up

Q -  Is Permanent Make-Up safe?
A -  All procedures at the Bella Vidas are performed with one-time disposable supplies and follow strict sanitation and sterilization guidelines as required by the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and OSHA regulations. Superb instrumentation and topical anesthetics are now available making Permanent Make-Up a safe and comfortable procedure.

Q -  Is infection possible?
A -  Even with a minor scratch infection is possible. However, there should be no major complications. You must keep the area clean and follow your after care instructions.

Q -  What color or shape should I choose?
A -  You have choices! There is an array of beautiful colors to choose from. Colors are customized and the shape and shading are designed to enhance your unique features. You will approve of any color or design prior to the application of pigment.

Q -  How long will the procedure take?
A -  Depending on the area of application, the procedure will take from one to two hours. Four to six weeks later a follow-up or touch-up session will be scheduled. Most people require at least one follow-up session.

Q -  What can I expect after the procedure?
A -  Expect slight swelling and redness. Usually the swelling subsides within 48 hours. Initially, your permanent make-up will appear darker, brighter and thicker than what it will heal to. In most cases, people leave our clinic looking as if they had been crying excessively after an eyeliner procedure. After a brow procedure the area appears dark and slightly red. Slight swelling to moderate swelling is normal after a lip color procedure. We will send you home with all aftercare instructions and supplies.

Q -  How long will my Permanent Make-Up last?
A -  Your Permanent Make-Up can last for many years depending on your skin type and how well you care for it. Over time the color may lighten and you may desire to have the color refreshed. We have seen clients with perfect eyeliner 10+ years later.

Q -  Is it true that it is not safe to have an MRI if someone has permanent makeup?
A -  Bella Vidas uses only FDA approved pigments that are MRI safe. There are off brand inks and pigments that contain iron oxide in formulations that can make having a MRI uncomfortable.

Q -  Are there consent forms or medical forms to fill out?
A -  Yes. All consent and medical forms must be completely filled out before your actual procedure.

Q -  How many sessions do I need?

Q -  How does my skin look after the treatment? (This will vary according to the area being treated)
A -
Mild to moderate redness and sensitivity in the treated area lasting 12 to 48 hours
Mild to moderate swelling and possible bruising for 2-3 days (very rare)
Dry and tight skin
Tiny crusted areas occur all over that feel slightly rough and give a tanned appearance
Varying amounts of flaking/peeling occur approximately 3 days after your treatment
Makeup is fine to use after 48hours, though just keeping the skin moist often looks better and assists in faster peeling time
After the skin has shed it has a healthy glow, feels softer, smoother and is more even in colour
It is important to protect the new skin from the sun by using a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily

Q -  Does Skin Needling damage the skin?
A -  No, there have been no reports of side effects with the skin needling. It penetrates the stratum corneum (top skin layer), where tiny needles form infiltration channels for a short space of time. The extremely slim needle-tips push the scales of the epidermis only aside, but they do not destroy them. The infiltration channels are closed in less than an hour.

Q -  How long to see results?
A -  All skin is different so we canít give a definite time frame for results, but as you roll your skin will feel lighter, tighter and brighter almost immediately. If you are treating scars or wrinkles you will see results each week as they skin changes and collagen re-grows, then after 1-3 months deeper results. Results are cumulative. Each treatment builds new layers of collagen on top of the last treatments results.

Q -  What can I expect after Skin Needling?
A -  The treated area may appear red/dark pink for the first 24-48 hrs. Usually clients relate felling like a mild sun/wind burn Each day thereafter, the area that was treated will start to feel better and then begin to exfoliate off naturally. Continue to wash with a gentle cleanser.

You will continue to see results for months after just one treatment. Collagen continually rebuilds making skin thicker, firmer and more youthful in appearance.

If subsequent procedures are desired, they can be performed in as little as 4 weeks...for optimal results 4 to 6 weeks.
